Auto Detailing FAQ
What is paint correction?
Paint correction is a machine polishing process that physically removes a microscopic layer of clear coat to level out swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation. It permanently removes defects — unlike a glaze that just hides them temporarily.
How do I know which stage I need?
We measure and inspect at your free consultation. Light swirls → Stage 1. Moderate defects → Stage 2. Heavy oxidation/sanding marks → Stage 3. We never upsell a stage you don't need — over-correction wastes clear coat.
Is paint correction permanent?
The defect removal is permanent, but new swirls can form from improper washing. That's why we recommend a ceramic coating afterward — it protects the corrected finish.
How long does paint correction take?
Stage 1: about 1 day. Stage 2: 1-2 days. Stage 3: 2-3 days. Heavy correction can't be rushed without risking the clear coat.
Will correction damage my paint?
Not when done correctly. We use digital thickness measurement to ensure we never remove unsafe amounts of clear coat. This is exactly why DIY correction is risky.
Should I get correction or just a coating?
If your paint has visible swirls, you need correction first. Applying ceramic coating over defects seals them in permanently. Correction + coating is the proper sequence.
